Copy of a letter from the Registrar, Trinity College, Dublin to the Crown Agents for the Colonies reference

/Hong Kong 2907 and dated 29th January 1923.

Your letter of the 25th January arrived last Saturday after office hours, and I hasten to say that I have not forgotten about the portrait of Sir Richard Graves MacDonnell.

It was a matter of some difficulty to ascertain in what branch of his family such a photpgraph could be obtained at all; and when that information was secured, the owner refused to send it to us by post. However, eventually he had it delivered by hand to a photographer, and we obtained the reproduction of it late last week. I trust it may meet the requirements of the authorities at Hong Kong. It looks a fairly fine photograph, at all events it is the only one we can get. I shall try to have it sent today, but, if not, certainly tomorrow, by registered parcel post. You will kindly regard it as your property to do with it as you think fit.

Will you, when it arrives, be so good as to send a line of acknowledgement to the Rev.T.T.Gray, Vice-Provost of Trinity College, Dublin, who has interested himself and taken a good deal of trouble in the matter. He will inform me of its arrival,
